A haulier’s day is enquiries, quotes, bookings, paperwork, and invoices, and in most small operators each of those lives somewhere different: an inbox, a spreadsheet, a folder of PDFs, the accounts package. Nothing is wrong with any one of them. The cost is in the gaps between them: the quote that has to be retyped into a booking, the POD that has to be found, the invoice that has to be keyed into Xero.
